Brighton coach hails Tariq Lamptey's impact

Brighton & Hove Albion coach, Graham Potter, has described Tariq Lamptey as a young player with interpersonal qualities following the footballer’s impressive display in the English Premier League.

Potter believes Lamptey has a long way to go in his career and with his coachable ability; he will get far in his career.

The English-born of Ghanaian descent has scored once and provided three assists in seven league matches this season and has been linked to moves to Bayern Munich and Sevilla.

In an interview with Daily Mail, the Brighton trainer said he was excited at the progress of the 20-year-old right-back and expects him to continue flourishing.

“I've always said he's a great down-to-earth lad, so credit to him and his family,' Potter said ahead of their visit to Tottenham.

“A lot of the interpersonal qualities he's got in terms of just wanting to help the team and wants to learn, wants to improve, are good,” he said.

“He's just a really coachable young guy. He's obviously got a long way to go in his career, but we're excited for him and at the same time we have to understand that he's not played a lot of games, he's only young, and his demand physically in terms of how he plays is huge.

“So we have to be careful with him as well. But we're delighted with him.”

Lamptey is yet to decide his international future with England and Ghana set to battle it out for the youngster having been born in London to Ghanaian parents.
