Blame me for Hearts defeat — Coach Traguil

Barely moments after their 3-0 humilation by academy side, West Africa Football Academy (WAFA), at Sogakope last Saturday a visibly disappointed Coach Sergio Traguil says he takes responsibility for the defeat.

He said  despite some costly defensive blunders which virtually handed their opponents with victory, any attempt to single out any player for the defeat  would not be prudent at his stage.

“As the coach I think I must accept responsibility for the defeat I don’t want anybody to hold my players,” he said.

Of course the mistakes were very “silly” and must not be committed at this stage by a team that want to win the title,” he lamented.

The Phobians stormed Sogakope last Sunday with an unbeaten away record having nine out of their 12 Premier League encounter with WAFA, originally known as Fetteh Feyenoord Academy and drawing just four.

But the Phobians succumbed to the academy boys within 21 minutes in the first half as Charles Boateng and Komla Agbengniadan (brace) handed the Phobians their first away defeat which ended their reign on the summit of the league ladder.

Indeed the visitors greatly felt the absence of Musah Inusah, who was suspended following a second bookable offence in their Premier League encounter against Ashgold last week.

The Portuguese-born trainer conceded that  the could not afford to make commit such mistakes in subsequent games.

"We came with a game plan but we did not respect our game plan at all.We failed too much in defence. We even started the game well despite that goal,”

We made bad mistakes at the defence and we cannot make such mistakes,” he stated.
