The owner and bankroller of Bechem United Football Club, Kingsley Owusu-Achau, has been honoured with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ by the Bechem Traditional Council for his ‘‘exemplary leadership, generosity and love for community’’ at this year’s ‘Adekyem’ Festival.
A statement read on behalf of Nana Fosu Gyeabour Akoto II, Omanhene of Bechem Traditional Council stated, ‘‘for his scholarship scheme for nurses and other students from Bechem, sponsorship of the maternity ward of the Bechem Government Hospital, donation of houses to National Best Teachers, huge investments in Bechem United FC, building of public library for Bechem and other benevolent activities in and outside Bechem, we proudly honour Kingsley Owusu-Achau with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award.’’
Owusu-Achau, who also runs the Top Kings Group of Companies, is renowned for his pride in Bechem and humanitarian initiatives. He has received attention twice for donating three-bedroom houses to the National Best Teacher award recipients and the sponsorship of the junior female national teams.
He was recently awarded for his contribution to the development of sports in the country at a special awards ceremony held in the Brong Ahafo Region.
