Andre DedeAyew recovered from an injury scare in midweek to team up with brother, Jordan to earn a crucial 2-0 away win against Ajaccio in their French League 1 action Sunday.

DedeAyew injured his foot in their loss to PSG in the French Cup action last Wednesday and they were concerned that he would be out of action for a while.

However, scans later revealed he was not in danger and returned Sunday in impressive form,  carving out the opener for Marseille ten minutes after the break, heading home from close range before Jordan Ayew came off the bench to seal the win for ElieBaup’s side in the 87th minute.

Marseille played under sustained pressure from their host but were able to prevent them from scoring in the first half.

Andre punished the Ajaccio defence in the 55th minute after they failed to deal with a cross as midfielder Kabore headed the ball back into the box for Andre who headed home for the opener.

Jordan Ayew who came off the bench in the 66th minute to replace Loic Remy sealed the win for the Olympians three minutes before time.

Mathieu Valbuena weighed a cross from the right for Jordan to calmly finish.

It was, however, not a pleasant weekend for senior brother, Rahim, who was sent off for Lierse SK who suffered a 4-1 defeat at Kortrijk in the Belgium Pro League last Saturday.

Ayew received his marching orders on 57 minutes after picking a second booking at the Guldensporenstadion.

He was quick to come out from the Lierse human wall as they defended a free-kick and referee refereeDelacour dipped into his pocket for a yellow card.

The makeshift left-back had gone into the referee’s book in the 40th minute for a rough tackle on Kortrijk midfielder Zukanovic.

Rahim has been a key player for Lierse the last two months since recovering from injury.
