Ashgold to deepen Kotoko woes

The 30th edition of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) is now history and this afternoon the attraction will be at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium where Ashgold host Kumasi Asante Kotoko in what tops the pack for the seventh week First Capital Plus Premier League.

Ashgold have so far been very impressive and are currently leading the league table with 15 points while Kotoko are still struggling to replicate the form that saw them clinch the league title last season.

After their painful loss to  age-old rivals, Accra Hearts Oak, last Saturday at their won backyard, the Porcupine Warriors will storm Obuasi like wounded lions looking for victory to placate their fans

But Coach Bashiru Hayford  who seemed to have had his tactics would surely pose a lot of problems for his counterpart, Masud Didi Dramani. Dramani has been under pressure and needs to conjure magic this afternoon to save his head.

But he has  a tough task as the likes of  Lawrence Lartey, Emmanuel Morrision, Yakubu Mohammed, Augustine Effah and Shafiu Mohammed have in recent times proved too strong for Kotoko.

In other encounters,  WAFA host Liberty at Sogakope while Berekum Chelsea welcome  Bechem United at Berekum, Hearts take on New Edubiase at the Accra Sports Stadium, Medeama are at home to  Olympics at Tarkwa with  Aduana  travelling to Tema to face Inter- Allies. In the rest of the games BA United play Hasaacas at the Sunyani Coronation Park while in Wa, All Stars clash  with Heart of Lions
