The Minister for Sports, Mr Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, says Ghana will not pay more than $75,000 in appearance fees to Black Stars players at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The players have demanded $100,000 each, but the government has resolved to pay $75,000 - the amount paid at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Mr Ankrah told Accra-based Joy FM Tuesday that the $75,000 amount was "non negotiable", adding that the payment of "unsustainable" appearance fees to Black Stars players will have to be reconsidered in future.
He said: "Going forward, all of us need to take a second look at this whole appearance fee business," he said.
"...It's definitely not sustainable and we cannot go on increasing appearance fee every world cup (year). So that discussion and debate have to occur."
