Egypt and Al-Ahly playmaker, Mohamed Aboutrika, has announced that he would hang his boots at the end of the season, Al-Ahly TV has reported.
Aboutrika’s announcement follows Egypt 6-1 defeat to Ghana in the first leg of their World Cup play-off.
The defeat has virtually shattered Aboutreka's dream of representing Egypt at the World Cup.
A Cairo University graduate with a philosophy degree, Aboutrika was one of the best African palyers who never played in Europe. He was also was part of Egypt’s 2006 and 2008 Africa Cup of Nations-winning squads.
