The Sports Minister, Mahama Ayariga, has appointed an 11-member committee to lead Ghana’s bid to host the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Committee members are: Ernest Thompson ( Chairman), the Director of SNNIT; Abedi Pele, Vice Chairman; Fred Crentsil, GFA Vice President; Randy Abbey; Herbert Mensah, football Administrator and businessman.
Others are ex-GFA Presidents, Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, Lepowura MND Jawula and Nana Sam Brew Butler.
The rest are Alex Mould, CEO of GNPC; Rex Danquah (Secretary), Consultant and Sports Expert; and Alhaji Abdulai Yakubu, Chief Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The committee will be supported by six ambassadors. They are: Stephen Appiah, Tony Yeboah Tony Baffoe, Ibrahim Sunday, Abdul Razak and former WBC Featherweight champion, Azumah Nelson.
The Committee and ambassadors’ work will end after CAF announces the host of the AFCON 2017 in January 2015.
