About 12 clubs in Europe want to sign Ghanaian striker, Abdul Majeed Waris, it has been revealed.
Waris, who plies his trade with Russian outfit Spartak Moscow, spent the last lap of last season on loan at relegated French Ligue 1 side Valenciennes.
According to a report by Goal.com, Lens and Lille from France have remained in touch with the player’s representatives since the beginning of the transfer window, with St Etienne and Bordeaux also looking to sign the young prodigy.
Other interested clubs, according to the report, include Malaga and Granada in Spain as well as Hertha Berlin, Werder Bremen, Hannover and Hamburg in the German Bundesliga.
Spartak Moscow have set an asking price of €5 million for the player and they want an outright purchase, the report added.
Waris scored nine goals in 15 appearances for Valenciennes on loan in the second half of last season and was one of the top strikers in Ligue 1.
