Tagoe ready for Momba

Tagoe ready for Momba

Although many were not impressed by his performance when he defeated George Ashie two years ago, Emmanuel 'Gameboy' Tagoe is ready to prove his critics wrong when he battle Tanzania opponent, Sidicki  Momba on Friday.

The WBA Inter-Continental bout is an opportunity for the Ghanaian to position himself for a world title short in the coming years and he believes this is the time to do that.

Ahead of the bout scheduled for boxing day, Tagoe has urged all Ghanaians not to miss the opportunity to be at the Accra Sports Stadium to witness the new techniques and approach he will deploy to defeat his opponent.

“I will be coming up with a new technique and approach, which is why I want everybody at the Stadium on that evening. You don’t need to be told what would be unfolded, come and see it for yourself. Gyan together with my coach ‘Akese’ will be at my corner to issue out instructions", he said during his work out.

Tagoe, very confident of his chances, has refused to study anything about Momba because he wants to concentrate on his training and allow his trainer to do the monitoring.

“I don’t waste time studying my opponent’s fights, with this one in particular, my coach is doing the monitoring for me, but I will determine how the fight will go when I mount the ring,” Tagoe said.

Tagoe who has not fought in a long time is not worried about his ring rustiness and has dared Momba to brace for a difficult fight of his life and promise a good show.

However, upon his arrival, the Tanzanian warned that Tagoe will have a tough time and indicated that he was here to win.

He hinted that despite coming to an 'enemy's' territory, his superior quality would be what will reign on the day.
