Sai, others to fight in CBC bouts

Obodai SaiFive Ghanaian boxers have been pencilled to bring honours to the country when they go into battle for various titles under the Commonwealth Boxing Council (CBC) sanctioned bouts between next month and next year.

They are expected to compete in some of the mandatory defences and  vacant title bouts ordered by the CBC.

Hard hitting local boxer, Obodai Sai, for instance,  hopes to bring glory to Ghana when he fights for the vacant middleweight title against England’s Steve O’Meara on February 1, next year after which Richard Commey is expected to challenge Derry Matthews of England for his lightweight title on March 7.

Relatively unknown Isaac Quaye  hopes to shoot himself into the limelight when he challenges England’s Kevin Satchell for the flyweight title, and Ebenezer Lantei Lamptey will have the pleasure in defending the flag of Ghana when he steps into the ring to challenge Scottish Willie Limond in the light welterweight contest on January 20.

Meanwhile, next month,  Gabriel Odoi Laryea will be the first to go into action when he tests his prowess against England’s Martin Ward for the vacant bantamweight title.
