Isaac Dogboe will stop Chachon — Trainer

Paul Dogboe, father and trainer of bantamweight contender, Isaac Dogboe, is optimistic that his son would knock out Argentine fighter, Javier Chachon, when they slug it out in a WBO International Super Bantamweight Championship at the Bukom Boxing Arena on July 22.

Paul, who admitted that the fight will be tough for Dogboe, said his son cannot afford to lose since it will provide him an opportunity to challenge for a world title.

He stressed on the need for the Dogboe to take his chances in the ring to enable him to win convincingly.

Dogboe has an outstanding undefeated record from 16 fights, with 10 wins by way of knockout, while Chachon has 25 wins from 29 fights, with three losses and a draw.

The bout is expected to be a tough one for both boxers, especially where it serves as a world title eliminator.

Paul told the Graphic Sports in a telephone interview yesterday that Dogboe was well prepared to beat Chachon at the end of the bout.

"Dogboe is well prepared for the fight and will definitely go for a knockout but will welcome a convincing win as well.

"It is going to be a tough fight, especially with his opponent being a knockout specialist but I can assure Ghanaians that he will definitely fall," he added.

Paul, who was keen on ensuring a vital victory over Chachon, said they were ready to add a win on the night and a world title for Ghanaians soon.
