Give me Gameboy Tagoe now — Demands Mensah
World Boxing Council (WBC) fourth ranked boxer, Rafael Mensah, has thrown a challenge to Emmanuel ‘Gameboy’ Tagoe again to a fight to determine the best in the division in Ghana.
According to Mensah, also known as “Sweet Pea” he is ready to go up in weight to 135 pounds just to get that opportunity to face Tagoe.
He is intrigued that Tagoe is still avoiding him and fighting others he considers as weak opponents.
In an interview with the Graphic Sports in Accra last Saturday, Mensah said the time was ripe for Gameboy to fight a more durable opponent since he (Gameboy) was inching closer to the world title.
“My division is hot at the moment, and I want to tell Asamoah Gyan and BabyJet Promotions that I just want to fight Gameboy to set the record straight, he explained.
The young promising fighter, who has fought 27 times without a defeat, said his wish to fight Tagoe, was also about the bragging rights of who is the best in 130-135 pounds division.
Mensah was is of the view that if George Ashie, could give Tagoe a hell of a time in the ring, then Gameboy would be no match for him.
“I don’t know why he is avoiding me, it is good for him and for Ghana boxing if we fight,” he asserted.
He declared that he would soon become a world champion and his victory over former WBC Silver champion Justin Savin in December, last year was an indication that he was close to that feat.
