Major and Latest Boxing news in Ghana

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has congratulated boxers Rafael Mensah and Samuel Kotey Neequaye on their climb into prominence on the latest ratings by the World Boxing Association (WBA).

Lightweights Mensah and Kotey Neequaye are currently ranked Number 9 and 10 respectively by the WBA and either could land a shot at the title if they maintain their steady rise.

Kotey Neequaye broke into the top 10 ranking after winning a split points decision over Dorren Spivey to claim the North America Boxing Association lightweight title at the Bob Carpenter Centre, Newark, Delaware, USA, on August 2 this year.

A statement by the GBA said the duo were on course in their separate careers, and wished them the best in future adventures, expressing the hope that they would reach for the ultimate in the nearest future.
