GABF Congress now May 11

The Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation(GABF) has postponed its much-awaited  Congress from April 18 to May 11.

The venue will be the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Pitch in Accra at 10am.

The Federation has also re-opened nominations for the position of the president, first vice and second vice presidents. Others, include treasurer and two executive members.

Meanwhile, one of the contestants vying for the position of president, Eugene Nyarko Appiah, is optimistic about his chances of securing the position.

The 32-year-old former Black Bomber who announced his intentions to contest with a construction of an ultra modern boxing gym in Santasi in the Ashanti Region told the  Graphic Sports he was in to support the discipline with his own finances and resources.

According to him, as a former boxer, he was determined to see the sport rise again and amateur boxing develop to its full potential.
