Ghanaian world title hopeful Isaac Dogboe comes up against Ugandan soldier Edward Kakembo in a bout which sets into motion the world title careers of the two.

Dogboe, a former Olympian and the WBO Africa featherweight champion, has a perfect record of 10 victories out of 10 fights, while Kakembo, an Africa Boxing Union featherweight champion, is also unbeaten.

The diminutive Ghanaian pugilist, whose promising career took off in the United Kingdom, is aiming to use this bout as a stepping stone for a world title bout this year.

In his last bout, diminutive Dogboe pummelled fellow Ghanaian, Michael Pappoe in a 12-round featherweight bout at the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex at North Kaneshie.

After his recent workout, he told the Graphic Sports that he was leaving nothing to chance in his determined bid to claim the continental title.

“I believe this is my time and I am mentally psyched for the task ahead and prepared to go all out,” Dogboe said in an interview.

Interestingly, Dogboe brings on board his belt against the 21-year-old Ugandan who seems charged up for the occasion.

His challenger, Kakembo, who arrived in Accra last Wednesday, looked battle-ready and is reported to have vowed to destroy the Ghanaian tomorrow.

The Ugandan has an unblemished record and is expected to provide the toughest test yet for the Ghanaian.

Kakembo, whose professional career began in 2013, has fought 10 times and won all.

His last encounter was a split decision against Nigerian Waidi Usman for the vacant African Boxing Union featherweight title.
