Dogboe nicknamed Royal Storm visited the Sports Minister’s office on Monday to present to him with the belt he successfully defended for the second time on June 18 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

He was accompanied by his father and trainer. Paul Dogboe as well as Ghana Boxing Authority Executives, Yoofi Boham and Naa Darkuah Dodoo.

“Isaac Dogboe’s performance justified the belief by a lot of people that we are not yet finished when it comes to boxing,” Mr Vanderpuije said.

“With the right managerial team, with the right technical staff, a lot more boxers have the capacity and ability to win world titles".

The Minister then charged the hard-hitting 21-year-old who is undefeated in 14 bouts with 9 KOs to seek a world title.

“I was happy that a lot of people came to the fight—a lot of Ghanaians love him and as such, I will encourage him. To whom much is given, much is expected.

“A lot of Ghanaians love him and there is a need not to be swollen headed. With this achievement we are looking at him to win other world titles, possibly unifying them and becoming the ultimate champion in that division”.

He continued, “It is not going to be easy though because in his the weight division there are a lot of difficult fighters from Asia and Latin America, but I know if Azumah Nelson has achieved it, Ike Quartey did, Alfred Kotey did, Nana Yaw Konadu did, Ebo Danquah did, Joseph Agbeko did and Joshua Clottey did, he is also capable of doing it.”

Dogbe has also paid visits to ex-President Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings and All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer, Hassan Ayariga in the aftermath of his victory over Kakembo.
