Bukom Fist of Fury bounces back in August

The national boxing league, dubbed “Bukom Fist of Fury", is set to return in August after months of suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Bukom Fist of Fury, which is being organised by the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), in conjunction with the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF), has been designed to spice up the boxing calendar with some exciting amateur and professional bouts.

Confirming the return of the boxing tournament, a Technical and Marketing Consultant of the GBA and GBF, Mr Moses Foh-Amoaning, explained that promoters could have the opportunity to take advantage and stage title fights on the bills.

Mr Foh-Amoaning explained that amateur boxers would also have the chance to be competitive when the league returns.

“We are looking at returning in August after a long break due to COVID-19 restrictions,” Mr Foh-Amoaning told Graphic Sports.

‘It is going to be a good thing for our amateur fighters who have been starved of fights all these months. They will have an opportunity to be active again and also provide promoters the chance to stage title fights on the bills,” he said.

The organisers are currently engaging sponsors to ensure that the much-anticipated return becomes a reality.

The Bukom Fist of Fury since its inception in 2019 has had the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), The Agricultural Development Bank ( ADB) and Trust Sports Emporium as its sponsors.
