Bukom Banku, Georgian opponent meet at weigh-in

This morning at the Accra Stadium, Ghana’s Braimah ‘Bukom Banku’ Kamoko and George Tevdorashvili of Georgia will face off on the scale at the official weigh-in ahead of tomorrow’s international cruiserweight fight at the same venue.

It will be their first meeting before tomorrow’s fight, but the platform could provide the tonic for an action-packed bout when they enter the ring.

Banku, 32, is feared for his punch power that has seen him conquer all of 25 opponents so far, and remains the hot favourite of locals to triumph once again.

Neutrals may give Tevdorashvili a slim chance on account of his modest 13-7-3 fight record, but with the prospect of a full world title lurking in the background, the Ghanaian boxer may find the motivation for one of his few non-title fights in recent times.

The Danger Zone bill, being put together by GoldenMike Promotions, will also feature female boxer Helen Joseph fighting Malianna Gulyas of Hungary for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Inter-Continental female featherweight title.

Other boxers on the bill, including Albert Mensah and Ben Odametey who will fight for the IBF Continental Africa lightweight title, and Issah Samir and Robison Omsarashvili who will fight for the IBF World Youth light-middleweight title, will also be meeting on the scale at the weigh-in today.
