Boxers promise fireworks at maiden Graphic Sports’ Boxing Festival
Gabriel “Silent Warrior” Cofie has vowed to serve notice of his credentials as a future world champion by upsetting David Cofie when he makes his debut at the maiden Graphic Sports’ Boxing Festival on Friday night.
Gabriel is scheduled to tangle with the relatively experienced Daniel Cofie at the Ada Park but says he is unfazed by the latter's record which stands at six wins and two losses.

However, Daniel is also confident of ending the contest billed as "The Battle of the Cofie's" in the first round, making for what is expected to be a battle fit for the gods.
Speaking after both boxers successfully tipped the scales for their catchweight contest on Thursday in Accra, Gabriel said he was ready to announce his presence to Ghanaians as a prizefighter after learning the ropes as an amateur over a three-years.
"I can't speak about a stopping him, because what I have learnt about boxing is that you can't set out for a knockout as it will lead to you taking many risks," Gabriel told the Graphic Online in an interview.
"However, if the opportunity presents itself he will surely go down".
Daniel was more emphatic in his prediction of the outcome of the bout, vowing that it will not travel beyond the first round.
"He's a small boy and I will give him a special welcome to the sport of boxing. It will be quick and painful and end in round one," Daniel assured.
Emmanuel Laryea and Mohammed Fuseini, the boxers billed to touch gloves in the other professional fight of the night also successfully tipped the scales for the flyweight bout.
Mr Herbert Nii Kpakpo Allotei-Cofie, the CEO of Allotei-Cofie Boxing Promotions disclosed that a total of 15 bouts will be honoured at the maiden Graphic Sports’ Boxing Festival which will usher in the Asafotufiami Festival on Saturday.
He also commended the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) for supporting the Ghana Boxing Authority and boxing promotors to develop local boxing.
"It's night time boxing and the Asafotufiami durbar comes on the next day. The boxing will begin the Asafotufiami festival and it's free thanks to Graphic and the McDan Group of Companies," he said.
The Graphic Sports’ Boxing Festival is organised by the GCGL in collaboration with the Allotei-Cofie Boxing Promotions and the McDan Group of Companies.
