Agbeko sure of victory on Oct 14
Two-time world bantamweight champion, Joseph "Kingkong" Agbeko, has assured Ghanaian fans that his bout with Tanzanian brawler, Haji Mwalugo Juma, will come-off without any further hitches on October 14 .
He has therefore urged boxing fans to turn up in their numbers to witness how he would demolish the Tanzanian at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The bout against Juma (16 wins, eight losses and five draws) was initially scheduled for August 27, but was postponed to October 14 after it clashed with a gospel concert at the Accra Stadium.
It was the second bout of Agbeko's to be postponed this year after another non-title bout against Fillipino Cris Alfante slated for May 28 , 2016, was cancelled after it clashed with a ban on drumming and noise-making.
The 35-year-old boxer told Graphic Sports in an interview that, his promotional company, Fresh King Entertainment (FKE) has ensured that this time round, the bout against Juma tagged "Fight For Peace" will go according to plan.
"Many people think we called it off because of the gospel concert, but what they don't know is that, I was carrying a slight injury at that time and I couldn't risk my fight record," he explained .
The CEO of FKE, Mr Eben Noye said as part of the preparations, Agbeko would pay courtesy calls on traditional leaders in the Greater Accra Region and invite them to witness the bout.
