AshantiGold confirm participation in CAF Confederation Cup

African football ruling body (CAF) earlier this week wrote to the Ghana Football A to let them know their clubs which will play in Africa before a September 11 deadline and the "Miners" who played in the competition last year and are eligible to represent Ghana again have confirmed their participation.

"Upon receiving a notice from the Ghana Football Association, AshantiGold SC on Thursday, 3rd September 2020 confirmed to the association to participate in the 2020/21 CAF Confederation Cup," AshantiGold said in a statement on the club's website.

"The club has taken steps to effectively comply with all directives with regards to the CAF club licensing application procedures."

The 2020/21 Confederation Cup is scheduled to commence on November 20.

AshantiGold, beaten finalists in the 2007 African Champions League, are putting in place measures to commence full-scale training activities as soon as restrictions on contact sports are lifted." An official statement from the club on Friday read.

The Miners are currently very busy in the transfer market and have been linked with a host of big names, including Aduana Stars skipper, Yahaya Mohammed, as the Obuasi-based side seek to build a winsome team for their continental campaign.
