40 referees to officiate in Premier League

Out of the 40 who have been given the greenlight, six of them have FIFA badges while the rest will be officiating with Class One badges.

Among the notable names expected to officiate in the upcoming season league matches are FIFA referee Daniel Laryea who has been nominated to handle the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier between Cape Verde and Rwanda, Charles Bulu and Benjamin Kwame Sefah.

The association also nominated 40 assistant referee who are expected to support the referees during the season.

Additionally, 10 each of referee and assistants have been appointed to handle the second-tier league with these referees and assistants expected to serve as back-up for the premier league referee.

According to the FA, these support referees from the lower tier league would be called upon to fill the vacuum incase any of the referees officiating in the premier division is dropped due to either disciplinary, performance, ethical or medical issue.
