Mr  Sodah who ended his first four years as the municipal chief executive in May this year, was re-nominated by The President, John Dramani Mahama, for his second term.

The MCE polled 61 out of 62 valid votes cast, representing 98.4 per cent.

The confirmation exercise which lasted less than 30 minutes was supervised by the Eastern Regional Electoral Officer, Mr Paul Boateng, and the Yilo Krobo Municipal Electoral Officer, Ms Patience Baddoo.

In a welcome address prior to the voting, the Presiding Member (PM) of the assembly, Mrs Rita Akosua Awatey, said the President’s nominee who was the incumbent, played a significant role in the development of the municipality over the past four years, and, therefore deserved to be retained.

The presiding Member on behalf of the assembly expressed his gratitude to the President for recognising the  nominee’s efforts, and, therefore, re-nominated him to serve the people of Yilo Krobo.

“I wish to state that Yilo Krobo will make history today as a sitting municipal chief executive that has been re-nominated by the President and would be endorsed massively once and for all by the assembly”, the Presiding Member emphasised.
