Vote based on integrity, good economic policies - CCC Head Pastor

He explained that as a pastor, he believed that if a political party could generate jobs, create the enabling environment for hardworking Ghanaian businesses to flourish, govern with honesty devoid of corruption, then “I am for that person”.

“Look at your current state of economic life and listen to the messages of the political parties and look out for the person who can manage our economy and vote for him. It is about the management of the economy. The question of somebody is Christian or not does not come into play. We need someone who can manage our economy and our resources, whether Muslim, Hindu, if he can manage the economy, full stop,” he stated.

Rev Obeng was addressing journalists at the church’s headquarters at Ayigya in Kumasi to announce a three-day programme by the Rev Eastwood Anaba, dubbed “Encounter with the Holy Spirit” which will be held at the church’s premises from Friday, September 9 to September 11, 2016.

Pastor Obeng stated that the Friday and Saturday programmes would start at 6pm while that of the Sunday would commence at 8am and urged all to come and experience “the empowerment of the Holy Spirit that would come upon us as the man of God ministers”.

He said as the prophet of God, Rev Eastwood Anaba would not put fear in the people but imbibe in them confidence and faith in God that there was hope in the living Christ and that through prayer and adherence to the word of God, there would be liberation and healing.

He said Rev Anaba was not the type of prophet who would put fear and spell doom for the people but would speak the mind of God to bring liberation and encouragement to the people of Kumasi.

Answering questions from the media on the economy, Rev Obeng stated that economic challenges facing the country was not the making of witches and demons but ignorance and lack of knowledge.

He said should Christians in all walks of life, professions and positions in the country live by the dictates of the Holy Bible and lead exemplary lives, there was no way the country would be at its current state.

Rev Obeng noted that the bible did not attribute the lack of progression to the doings of demons and witches, adding that the issue of Ghana was due to lack of knowledge about the word of God and secular knowledge of issues pertaining to lives and the economy.

He cited the Japanese who did not worship God yet were progressing and were not worried because things were good in their country with their high life expectancy, adding that they do not need to go to church.

“But as the Bible says, my people perish because of lack of knowledge”, Rev Obeng added.

“Because majority of the people do not have knowledge anybody at all including politicians and some pastors have taken advantage and deceiving the people. Ignorance, both spiritual and secular is a big diseases”

Profession

Just as in every profession, there are good pastors and prophets who have been called by the Almighty God to do his work while on the otherwise are those who have called themselves and resorting to all forms of strategies just to enrich themselves at the expense of the word of God.
