UW NPP candidates can’t win 2016 election — Issahaq

The Upper West Regional (UWR) branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has congratulated the Upper West Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on going through their primaries successfully.

However, the UWR branch of NDC has observed that “the outcome of the NPP primaries conducted recently showed that none of their candidates elected in the region is a winnable material”.

According to the Regional Organiser of the NDC, Mr Adams Mengu Issahaq, “the empty threats by the NPP to capture at least four out of the 11 Parliamentary seats held by the NDC in the region is a big joke.”

He said the NDC in the region was not shaken at all about the noise from the NPP that they would win four seats in the region.
The seats are the Wa East, Wa West, Nadowli-Kaleo and Jirapa constituencies.
“Of the four seats, they will have none”, Mr Issahag said.

Assurance

He gave the assurance that the NDC was going to elect winnable candidates during their forthcoming primaries scheduled for October this year to make election 2016 a sure victory.
He said though the primaries were successful the acts of violence and lawlessness at the voting centre in Wa were deplorable.

Leadership

The regional organiser advised the leadership of the NPP to patch their various differences as quickly as possible in the hope of going through the 2016 elections without any challenges.

“We will not like to win the elections for the NPP to go to court and cry foul for not being able to put their own house in order”, he said.
He said so far, the NDC parliamentarians had performed so creditably to the joy of the populace in the region that there was no fear that any vain promises from any political party could swing the votes of the people to their favour.

He said all social amenities and infrastructural facilities such as roads, potable water, health and educational projects were being provided in every nook and cranny of the region to harness the vast potential of the region for rapid growth.
