The General Secretary of the UCF, Mr Nyako Efamam Felix, said the soiree was meant to announce the rebirth of the front.

He expressed dissatisfaction about the damaging stories some media houses carried about the UCF,  and appealed to journalists to investigate issues before going to press.

He said the UCF was embarking on a project in agriculture and aquaculture to make its members active and to contribute their quota to the development of Ghana.

Mr Felix also touched on the election of national executives of the NDC, adding that it was a family affair and must be treated as such to avoid conflict in the party.

He appealed to members of the front not to do things that had  the tendency to destroy the party and the UCF.

The President of the Ghana Journalists Association, Mr Roland Affail Monnie, said although there was freedom of speech in the country, it did not give people the right to use that to breach the 1992 Constitution.

He called for partnership between the public and the media to foster cordial relationship for better economic growth and development.
