TESCON president cautions NDC

Former TESCON President of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Nana Boakye, has said the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) wants to divert attention from the current Supreme Court case.

He alleged that the ruling political party had influenced key personalities from the other political parties to hold press conferences to slam New Patriotic Party (NPP) officials without justification.

Nana Boakye claimed in an interview that  the ruling NDC was using Dr Charles Wereko Brobby, Kofi Akpaloo and Akua Donkor to prosecute its diabolic agenda.

Nana Akufo-Addo, the NPP flag bearer for the 2012 elections, and two other top members of the party, are contesting the results of the presidential election  at the Supreme Court.

Nana Boakye said the NDC started the agenda to divert attention from the Supreme Court immediately Dr Afari Gyan, the Electoral Commission (EC) Chairman, was led evidence-in- chief at the court.

The  former KNUST TESCON president said the EC chairman’s performance did not go down well with members of the NDC, who have  adopted plans to divert attention from the case.

Nana Boakye, affectionately called ‘Nana Bee,’ said Ghanaians were aware of the NDC’s tactics.

He said people would continue to watch the court proceedings despite the actions  of the NDC.

Nana Boakye, who is part of the NPP communication team, urged NDC members not to waste their time, energy and resources on trying to divert the attention of people from the matter because their activities would come to naught.

He reprimanded Dr Wereko Brobby for stooping so low by succumbing to the machinations of the NDC.

He said the NPP stood firmly behind Dr Brobby during the investigations into the activities of the Ghana @50 Secretariat.

Nana Bee called on the leadership of the NPP to deal drastically with Dr Wereko Brobby.
