Respect party decision, tenets -- Addison Coleman

The Agona West Parliamentary Candidate aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Evans Addison Coleman, has urged party members to abide by the decisions and directives of the party hierarchy.

He said the party had stood the test of time and been successful in its governance due to its strict adherence of its rank and file to the principles of loyalty and commitment to the tenets of the party.

Briefing journalists on his vision for the area in Accra yesterday, Mr Coleman, aka Onoma, said he was committed to the wellbeing of the people in his area as well as the country.

He further urged the party faithful to remain committed to the cause of the NPP, show respect and honour for party leadership and government appointees.

Questions

Answering questions on allegations that he organised a demonstration against lawful authority in 2017, he said: “I wish to emphatically state that I neither engaged, neither did I partake, in the planning; nor admonished party sympathisers or party faithful to stage a demonstration whatsoever against the decision not to appoint me as the Municipal Chief Executive for the Agona West Municipality.”

Mr Coleman said as a dyed-in-the-wool NPP member, he had always respected decisions of the party and abided by them because such decisions were in the best interest of the party and government and that no parochial interest was supreme.

“I emphatically dissociate my good self from such negative behaviour and condemn same, as such those actions do not reflect my intuition, thoughts and beliefs in addressing grievances whatsoever,” he said.

“I believe the choice of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was, and is, in the best interest of all residents of the Agona West Municipality and the New Patriotic Party at large,” he said, adding that any benefit that was allegedly directed to me was by this notice strongly disclaimed and denounced at all levels of this demonstration and its consequential effects.

Peace

He charged Ghanaians to be security conscious and expose deviants who intended to plunge the country into chaos.

He said with the level of development, coupled with the promising nature of the advancement of the burgeoning democracy, it was necessary for all to be vigilant and protect the nation from deterioration.
