Regional executive dwindling NDC fortunes

The Eastern Regional branch of the Zongo for Mahama Club of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed worry about the negative activities of some regional executives of the party.

It said some executive members had “hijacked” the party and were working against its fortunes in the area.

Ms Azumi Adisa, the regional women’s organiser of the club, at a press conference in Koforidua on Wednesday, said the NDC would have attracted more floating voters but for the “bad” behaviour being exhibited by those executive.

She said if the situation should continue, the fortunes of the party would dwindle and discourage many from working for it.

Ms Adisa appealed to President John Mahama to be wary of people who were only interested in their own well-being and asked him to carefully consider the nomination of Mr Anthony Gyampo, the regional secretary of the party, as the regional minister as his contribution to the party had been well-noted.

She said Mr Gyampo was a “listening father” who would help to promote the party in the region, since through his “great wisdom” many in the Zongo communities were convinced to vote for the NDC. –GNA
