Started from the Ashanti Region on Friday, the tour moved to the Brong Ahafo Region yesterday, Sunday, April 17 and would continue to the three northern regions of Ghana.

According to the National Secretary, Mr Murtala Mohammed, the national tour will be used to introduce the National Parliamentary Campaign Team and the Regional Campaign Team to the constituencies and polling stations.

The tour will also assess the preparedness of regional and local executives towards the November 7 election.

The national and regional executives will also meet the chiefs and opinion leaders of the selected constituencies in closed-door discussions on matters of mutual concern.

The party will also engage the media on various platforms with regard to important issues affecting the local people in the area.

This tour, Mr Mohammed said, would give the PPP the opportunity to state its case directly to the people in small community group meetings, on local radio stations and at places of work.

The PPP, he added, would talk to the youth and students during the tour and encourage them to think about their future and support the PPP.

“In the wake of broken promises by the NDC government, a high unemployment rate, abject poverty and illiteracy that can be found everywhere, many Ghanaians have expressed their willingness to vote for an alternative political party,” he stated.

He also said many more were afraid of what would happen after this year’s election if the NDC or the NPP won the presidency.

“Ghanaians want to protect the peace and stability we all have sacrificed to establish and so we believe they are ready to vote for the PPP — a peace-loving, respectful and purposeful political party.  We are working hard to deserve their votes, ” he concluded.
