Politics is about peace, unity, development - Victoria Hammah
A Deputy Minister designate for Communications, Ms Victoria Hamah, has said that politics is about peace, unity, stability and development, as well as the advancement of the socio-economic condition of the citizenry.

She said President John Dramani Mahama was committed to discharging all of these values.
She made the remarks when the Ablekuma West Constituency executive of the NDC called on her at her residence in Dansoman in Accra at the weekend.
The executive members expressed their gratitude to President Mahama for recognising the efforts of Ms Hamah, who was also the Constituency Parliamentary Candidate in the 2012 December general election.
She thanked President Mahama for the confidence reposed in her and also commended the executive members for the enormous sacrifices and efforts they made that saw the election of the President.
Captain Eric Dodoo (Rtd), NDC Constituency Chairman for Ablekuma West, congratulated Ms Hamah on her appointment.
He said Ms Hamah was a dedicated, thoughtful and progressive politician who was committed to the progress and success of the NDC’s “Better Ghana Agenda” Part two, under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.
Capt. Dodoo said, “Ms Hamah has played a significant role and contribution to the success of the NDC at all levels for nearly a decade.
“As social democrats, we believe that giving opportunity to young energetic people to serve in government is an expression of confidence in the ability of the Ghanaian youth.”
Ms Hamah was born in Tema in the Greater Accra Region on September 9, 1981 to Mr Alex Hamah, a Veteran Trade Unionist, Author and Politician, and Mrs Gifty Hamah.
She was admitted to the University of Ghana in 2001 where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2005.
She was a member of the Students Representative Council Women Commission of the university and also the National Women’s Organiser of the National Union of Ghana Students.
Ms Hamah has participated in a number of gender conferences related to conflict and wars, refugee crisis, violence against women and HIV and AIDS in South Africa, Nigeria and the United States.
She was a member of the International Observer Team that saw the election of the late Yara-Dua and state governors of Nigeria and was also part of the Government Communication Team.
She was a Branch Women’s Organiser of the Ablekuma Central Constituency and also the Director of the Alex Hamah Publishing.
Ms Hamah is the producer and hostess of Compare the Records, a political talk show that interrogates comparative policy initiative and developments of the current and immediate past regimes.
She is also a co-hostess of the famous Real Talk show on TV3 and the Hostess of Chocolate Factory on Cine Afrik on Multi TV.
The Deputy Minister nominee is the Executive Director of the Progress Organisation for Women’s Advancement, a network of public-spirited youth group dedicated to the protection of women’s rights as a link to broad social justice causes.
She was a member of the just ended 57th UN Commission on the status of women and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree at the University of London.
Ms Hamah has enrolled for a Masters of Arts programme in Human Rights and Global Ethics at Leicester University, London. - GNA
