The arrested persons are currently being held by the Ho Police for screening and further investigation.

The culprits are expected to be charged in court after the investigations.

Last Thursday, some irate youth supporters of the NDC went on the rampage in the Nkwanta North District of the Volta region and burnt five of the party’s vehicles.

This followed a publication that Paul Livingstone Dzato, the District Chief Executive of the area, had been re-nominated by the President to continue as District Chief Executive.

The youth accused Mr Dzato of being a member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Deputy Superintendent of Police in charge of Police Public Affairs, Mr Cephas Arthur told Graphic Online the move was in line with the police administration’s determination to deal with persons irrespective of their political affiliation in the Nkwanta North disturbances that led to the burning down of four state vehicles.

Mr Arthur said any of those arrested or yet to be apprehended when found culpable would be dealt with according to the dictates of the law and would not be left of the hook.

In July this year, a mob of angry youth of the NDC in Salaga in the Northern Region destroyed and set fire to the party’s constituency office in protest against the President’s nomination of DCE.
