PNC youth support Mornah's chairman bid

A pressure group, Young Patriot of the People’s National Convention (YPPNC), has thrown their support behind Mr Bernard Mornah in his quest to becoming a national chairman of the party.

According to the group, claims by two other contestants Mr David Apasera for the national chairmanship position and Mr Henry Asante for Vice Chairman position that Mr Mornah presented a “fake” cheque to pay for his nomination forms was not true.

Rather, they said the accusations were only aimed at denting the image of Mr Mornah.

At a press conference held in Tamale in the Northern Region on Tuesday, the spokesperson of the group, Mr Iddrisu Salifu Protocol, said the leadership of PNC should institute disciplinary actions against the two for peddling falsehood.

“We wish to call on the party to institute disciplinary sanctions against David Apasera and Henry Asante for selfishly bringing shame and disrepute to the party”, he stated.

Mr Protocol said Mr Mornah was the first to submit his nomination forms to the election committee and was duly cleared after they (national executives committee) were satisfied.

He explained that “assuming without admitting that the bank could not honour the cheque due to insufficient funds in Mr Mornah’s account, couldn’t Apasera, as National Treasurer, confer with his General Secretary for correction as envisaged by proper administrative procedure?”
