The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party met at the party’s headquarters last Wednesday to deliberate on a variety of issues including preparations towards the national delegates’ congress.

The decision to reschedule the congress was taken to enable the party to organise outstanding conferences in some regions on or before October 30, 2015 as they form a very crucial part of the processes towards the congress.

Executive positions

Consequently, NEC approved of nomination for national executive positions to be opened on November 2, 2015 and closed on November 7, 2015.

Vetting for all aspirants would also take place between November 9 and 12, 2015. Also, the NEC has formed various committees that would organise and superintend over activities leading up to Congress.

They are the congress Committee, Vetting Committee, Elections/Nomination Committee, Constitutional Review Committee and Protocol/Accreditation Committee.

Regional Nominations

Furthermore, NEC has directed the Northern Regional Secretariat of the party to re-open regional nominations for a three-day period commencing Thursday, October 8, to Saturday October 10, 2015.

NEC also approved GH¢ 500.00 as filing fees for Parliamentary primaries.

According to a statement signed by the General Secretary of the PNC, Bernard Mornah, it is the expectation of NEC that all stakeholders in the process will take keen interest in these decisions and work assiduously to put the party on a sound footing going into Election 2016.
