The suspension, according to the regional executive, took immediate effect from Wednesday, November 12, 2015, and the matter has been referred to the regional disciplinary committee “for the appropriate action.”

A letter signed by the Regional Secretary, Mr Hafiz bin Salih, said the decision followed a complaint by one Adams Mahamood Mumuni, a member of the party, that Mr Seidu had mobilised people for and actively participated in the recent demonstration in Accra in support of the beleaguered Mr Afoko.

Allegation

“It is alleged that you mobilised, as well as led, some people from the region to demonstrate against the decision of both the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the National Council regarding the suspension of Mr Paul Afoko from his position as national chairman of the NPP,” the letter said.

By the letter, Mr Seidu’s continued stay in office as constituency chairman hangs on the outcome of the disciplinary process.

He becomes the latest on a list of party officials who have had actions taken against them for their involvement in the said recent demonstration in Accra.
