NPP needs a new flagbearer – Dr. Apraku

Speaking in Kumasi at the inauguration of TESCONA, an NPP group made of past graduates of tertiary schools, Dr. Apraku said the party needed a winnable candidate who can wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2016.

“We will all win these elections if we select the best person to lead the party or our various offices; that is where we win, nobody wins unless the right decisions have been made and the best persons elected.”

“And in an election for our Presidential candidate let me say we should select the best possible person for our party; the person who will embody the aspirations, the values of the rest of the population; the person that Ghanaians can see through and say I want my son to be this person,” he added.

He further called for clean elections at all levels of the party’s structures devoid of factionalism saying, “let everybody be free to compete in this election without regard to I belong to this or I belong to that; everybody should be selected on the basis of their competence, their loyalty, defectiveness and dedication work.”

Dr. Apraku noted that unity in the NPP after the delegates’ congress should be paramount on the agenda 2016 saying, “when the contest is over there should be no vanquish and there should be no victors.”
