NDC salutes workers

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended its warmest felicitations and congratulation to Ghanaian workers on the occasion of May Day.

“You deserve commendation and praise for your devotion to work and your commitment to ensure that the wheel of socio-economic and political development in this country is not impeded, even in the face of challenges confronting your efforts,” the party stated.

In a statement to mark May Day yesterday, signed by Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, General Secretary of the party, it said workers’ dedication and selflessness to productivity and peace had culminated in the relatively serene labour environment prevailing in the country.

As workers all over the world observe this all-important event, the NDC reiterated that as a social democratic party, it shared in the aspirations of the Ghanaian worker and, would not relent in its resolve to see to the qualitative improvement of all workers of this country.

The NDC therefore stressed its commitment to continue to stand for workers’ rights.

“Our decision to stand for workers is a confirmation of the long and unflinching commitment to uphold the human rights and dignity and the bond of friendship and respect which will continually exist between the NDC and a social progressive force like the Trades Union Congress (TUC),” the statement concluded.
