NDC's Kwasi Ashiaman wins Buem parliamentary seat

The New Vision Party (NVP) candidate Alhaji Muniru of NVP got 251 representing 2.27 percent whiles the Convention People's Party (CPP) candidate, Nelson Asafo polled 726 votes representing 6.46percent.

Total valid votes were 11,060 out of the total votes cast of 11,247. 187 votes were rejected.

Ashiaman, 43, who is also a marketer replaces Henry Ford Kamel, who passed away on Christmas Day after winning the seat on the ticket of the NDC in the 2012 general elections.

Kamel, who was also Volta Regional Minister was laid to rest last weekend.

Perhaps the voter turnout in the by-election was low due to the fact that the constituents were still mourning the late MP.
