NDC obvious choice for sustainable development — Nii Lante Vanderpuye

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Odododiodio Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, has said every region in the country has enjoyed its fair share of infrastructural development, making the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC)  the obvious choice of Ghana’s quest for sustainable development.

He has, therefore, appealed to the electorate to retain the NDC in power for continuity in  infrastructural development.

“As I travelled around the country as a Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD), the unprecedented number of projects I saw in education, health and agriculture, particularly in the rural areas, made me feel optimistic that Ghanaians will endorse President Mahama with a much more emphatic victory come November 7,” Mr Vanderpuye added.

Choose JM

The MP, who is also the Minister of Youth and Sports, made the comments at a rally in his constituency on Sunday.

Christened “Odododiodio under the leadership of Nii Lante Vanderpuye declares with a resounding voice,” the event was organised by a grassroots youth movement  ‘# iChoose JM.’

The movement is expected to gather thousands of youth nationwide for them to declare their support for President John Mahama.

He said under his stewardship the roads in the constituency had been rehabilitated, with underprivileged students receiving scholarships from the MP’s Common Fund. He assured the people that he would deliver on his campaign promises before the November polls.

Mr Vanderpuye, therefore, entreated the electorate to give their mandate to the NDC come November 7 “because we care for you.”

Bukom Square

The Bukom Square was clad in NDC’s paraphernalia, where organisers showcased on a big screen some infrastructural projects undertaken by the administration.

Party sympathisers wore T-shirts branded ‘#iChoose JM’ and danced to climax the occasion.

In an interview with the  Daily Graphic, some of the sympathizers said they believed the development projects executed by the NDC government symbolised how visionary its leadership was.

“We need John Mahama; he has brought development and my children will go to school, without any challenges,” Ibrahim Kamoko, also known as Bukom Banko, said.
