This will be the first presidential election in that country after the bloody post-election violence of 2010.

President Alhassan Ouatarra will stand for re-election against 10 candidates, including two women. Six of the candidates are independent and four are being sponsored by political parties.

Cote d'Ivoire’s economy has seen positive improvements and the security situation has largely improved.

The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. Ivorians aged 18 and above, with national identity and voters card, are eligible to vote.

The provisional electoral list contains 6,300,158 voters falling under 22,000 polling stations.
