Sending his warmest regards to Muslims in the country and across the globe, he said , “I wish all of us to take a little time out of the holiday to pray to Allah for continuous peace for our beloved country Ghana”.

Dr Sakara, in a statement to mark the day, challenged the youth to have confidence that the future was bright.

He added that nobody should allow him or herself to be used as a vessel for destruction.

“Let us have confidence in the nine-member panel of judges for a fair verdict on September 4. Avoid any act that could create problems and let us forge ahead in unity after the judgment day and develop our motherland Ghana,” he stated.

According to Dr Sakara, he believed the principles of equality for all and a fair distribution of opportunity regardless of faith, religious persuasion, ethnicity or gender.

“ I also believe in an open and diverse society in which there are no discriminatory practices against any Ghanaian and thus, we would appeal to the nation to join our Muslim brothers and sisters in the celebration as they conclude their month-long fasting”.

Dr Sakara noted that as a country, “we need a collective effort to overcome challenges we are confronted with,”

“Let us use today’s celebration to exhibit some of the highest virtues that mankind can attain before Allah, that humility, obedience, selflessness and sacrifice.

“I wish to appeal to all Ghanaians, regardless of your religious faith to reflect on how we can exercise these virtues and in so doing become instruments of Allah's will. And this God will bless us individually and the nation at large”, the 2012 CPP flag bearer pointed out.
