He explained that during the celebration of the founding of the country the traditional drumming, dancing and pouring of libation and the prayer for peace sent out a good message of unity among the people.

Mr Abugbilla called on the people of the Pusiga District to see themselves as one and ensure that there was peace in the area for development.

The DCE called on schoolchildren to contribute to the development of their communities by cultivating the habit of patriotism.

He entreated them to be obedient to their parents and teachers and avoid social vices such as early sex, smoking, stealing and rumour-mongering.

He called on parents to see the education of their children as a priority and encourage them by supervising their work and supporting them with what they needed in school.
