“We are one family and we need not wash our dirty linen in public,” he stated.

Speaking to the Daily Graphic, Mr Ghartey, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Essikado/Ketan, reminded candidates vying for the various national positions that the party’s opponent is the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He, therefore, asked them to be mindful of their utterances since they would be giving the NDC weapons to shoot at NPP during campaigns for the 2016 general election.

Mr Ghartey said the current accusations and counter-accusations by leading members of the NPP were not the best, adding that there was the need for a clean campaign to maintain the cordial relationship among leading party members and the rank and file after the national delegates congress.

“Let us prove to the country that we are ready to rule the country, come 2016,” he said, adding that Ghanaians were expecting the NPP to explain how it could solve the country’s problems when given the mandate.

He commended members of the party for the mature manner in which elections were conducted at the polling stations, constituency and regional levels, which he said had enhanced the democratic credentials of the party.

Mr Ghartey congratulated both winners and losers of the recent regional elections and expressed the hope that they would heal their wounds quickly to ensure unity among the rank and file of the party at all levels.
