Greater Accra CPP holds bi-annual meeting

The Greater Accra Regional Branch of the Convention People Party has held its bi-annual Regional Executive Committee Meeting at the party’s headquarters in Accra recently.

The well-attended meeting deliberated exhaustively on matters concerning the regional branch, the party and the nation at large.

The purpose of the meeting was to brief members of the committee, which included constituency chairmen and regional officers, on details of the party’s national organisation structure and the role of constituency executives in the organisation of the electoral area and polling station branches. A format of the organisational programme was also discussed extensively by the meeting.

Dr Nii Gborbilor Fleischer, the Acting Regional Chairman, outlined the framework of the programme and entreated members to pursue it with vigour and enthusiasm for its successful implementation, as the party is determined to operate from the grassroots.

Members also congratulated Comrade Amadu Moses Yahaya on his tenacity and perseverance that won him the Kumbungu parliamentary seat for the CPP.

On the state of the party, the meeting took cognisance of the united effort of the Nkrumahist front that prevailed during the Kumbungu by-election recently and which culminated in victory for the CPP.

The meeting hoped the various Nkrumahist groups would come together as one formidable force to contest future elections.

The regional chairman reminded the meeting that the Convention People’s Party inspired, designed and built, within nine years, the superstructure called Ghana.

The superstructure built with visionary thoughts, African pride and Dignity; with nationalism and national pride, a decade that was working to achieve the African Renaissance, was destroyed by unpatriotic and neo-colonialism reactionaries.

Today the superstructure under Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Mr Ayeh Kumi, N.A Welbeck, Archie-Casely Hayford, Krobo Edusei, E.I Preko, Kojo Botsio, Kofi Baako, Alex Quayson Sackey and others remains in a pity state and is now in shambles. Nkrumahism must rise again and rebuild Ghana for the benefit of posterity. All other systems without any philosophical base have failed Ghana.

Without high profile personalities, but with men and women with passion, dedication and commitment to achieve and prove to the world that the African has brain and wit, they achieved monumentally from 1957 to 1966 until demonic doom befell Ghana.
