Concede defeat when you lose – Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah urges political parties
Founder of Royalhouse Chapel International, Rev. Samuel Korankye Ankrah has called on political parties to put the country first in the upcoming general elections in December.
He urged political parties who do not win in the elections to concede defeat and support the winner.

“When the winner of the elections is announced by the Electoral Commission (EC) all the other candidates must concede defeat, we don’t want trouble in this nation. Concede when the winner is announced…when you concede defeat the winner also takes care of you, he stated.
The Apostle General made the call when delivering a sermon in church on Sunday, November 1, 2020, in Accra.
In the sermon titled “How to live wisely with your enemy,” from the biblical text 1 Samuel 24:20, he said King Saul accepted that David, his opponent would be king after him.
Apostle General thus urged politicians to emulate this attitude of King Saul and allow the person that God chooses in the December polls to take the reins of power in peace.
“Put Ghana first” he urged, reminding the nation that no political party would rule forever and that governance is a system that would have different people leading at different points in time.
He stressed that conceding defeat is not a loss but it rather opens doors of favour and goodwill.
Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah also called on members of political parties to desist from feeding their leaders with negative advice and false information, which oftentimes cause the leaders to make bad decisions.
“Those of you around politicians, you are the reason for the confusion and the chaos in our society. You give bad counsel, you speak evil into the ears of our leaders. You don’t give good recommendations. You feed them with lies and then they are angry and then they also overreact. God will judge all of you”.
He also called on the Electoral Commission to reconsider the three days waiting period before announcing the winner of the elections.
He said his call was because people become tense during the waiting period and most activities become standstill, “Electoral Commission, we can’t wait for three days. Is it possible when we finish the following day you announce the results so that those of us who want to go to church can go to church so that those who want to go to the market will go to the market? He asked.
