George Andah wins Awutu Senya West NPP primary

A Deputy Minister of Communications, Mr George Andah, has been re-elected to contest the Awutu Senya parliamentary seat on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party.

Mr Andah won the two-horse race contest after polling 438 votes of the valid votes cast. His main challenger, Mr Joseph Aidoo secured 191 votes.

In a short remark after the declaration of the results by officials of the Electoral Commission (EC), Mr Andah called for party unity after the primary to brighten the chances of the NPP in retaining the seat.

‘I wish to sound a strong warning to the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) that the NPP is poised to retain the seat in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections slated for December 7’ he said.

Mr Aidoo who conceded defeat accepted the outcome of the primary and pledged to work with the incumbent to ensure an emphatic victory in the December polls
