Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, the 2012 Presidential candidate of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), will deliver a lecture in Accra today on the economic crisis facing the nation.
On the theme: “Solutions For Ghana: A Nation In Crisis,” the lecture at the Banquet Hall of the Coconut Grove Regency forms part of activities marking the second anniversary celebration of the party.
A statement from the National Secretary of the party, Mr Kofi Siaw, said originally cut to focus on the economic transformation of the country, the lecture would touch on the role of leadership in nation building in response to recent developments in the country, as people had been asking for solutions to the many challenges confronting them.
It was recently speculated by a section of the media that Dr Nduom had taken a personal decision to bow out of active politics.
This generated controversial comments among the media fraternity, party supporters and the Ghanaian populace as a whole. Dr Nduom has not yet come out openly to reprove these public speculations, but the PPP National Youth Co-ordinator, Mr Divine Nkrumah, and other members of the Executive Committee have dismissed as untrue the said decision by Dr Nduom.
It is in this lecture to be delivered by Dr Nduom, who is also known as ‘Edwumawura’ or “Dr Fix it,” that a determination can be made by all Ghanaians as to who is better positioned with the requisite knowledge, expertise and wherewithal to transform this country from its current economic hardship into a prosperous nation.
