Develop interest in study of 1992 Constitution
The Nkwanta South acting District Director of the National Commission for Civic Education(NCCE), Mr Daniel Agbesi Latsu, has called on Ghanaians, especially students to develop interest in the study of the 1992 Constitution to enable them to play their roles more effectively.

He said adequate knowledge of the constitution by the people would help ensure that citizens knew more about their rights and responsibilities in order to fully participate in the governance process of the nation and contribute meaningfully towards its development.
Mr Latsu said this when he presented some copies of the 1992 constitution to the Krotang D.A Junior High School(JHS) Civic Education Club(CEC) at Krontang near Nkwanta in the Volta Region.
He stressed that understanding the constitution by all would help the people to defend and protect it at all times.
He underscored the importance of the formation of CECs in educational institutions and noted that activities of the clubs would motivate students and pupils to develop interest in the constitution from an early stage in life which would enable them to become very patriotic.
Mr Latsu said understanding the constitution would enable citizens to know the rules, demands and ethics of democracy and party politics and make meaningful contributions to nation building.
The headmaster of the Krontang DA JHS, Nana Mireku Dawohonso , commended the management and staff of the NCCE for their commitment to duty and promised that the books would be put to good use.
Nana Dawohonso, who is the divisional chief of Bonakye, urged the pupils to study hard to become great men and woman in future.
The principal field officer of the NCCE, Mr Sikiru Moru, advised the pupils to take the activities of the club seriously to enable them to gain a better understanding of the 1992 constitution, adding that a broad knowledge of the constitution would enable them to relate effectively with one another in the democratic environment being enjoyed by citizens.
In all, 18 JHS and one SHS benefitted from the package with each JHS receiving two copies and the SHS given four.
