The Regional Electoral Officer of the NDC, Mr Yaw Asiedu said reports reaching him indicated that Mr Walker who was voting in the Mfantseman constituency failed to ensure that his name was successfully transferred to his constituency.

He said efforts to get him to vote today failed.

“We can’t just get him to vote if he failed to ensure that the Electoral Commission has transferred his name to his constituency,” he stated adding that he could not just do much to help.

The Electoral officer at the poling centre, Mr Samuel Addo said Mr Walker walked away very disappointed.

Elections in the Central region began in all constituencies smoothly this morning.

But many of the people who turned out expecting their names to be on the register did not have their names on it.

At the Harris School Complex polling Station, about 25 people had been sent away because their names were not on the register.

At the Pedu MA school polling center, the Electoral officer, Mr Albert Jason said about 30 people had been sent away.

Meanwhile 100 people were yet to vote as off 4pm.

A total of 154,643 delegates are expected to vote in the 23 constituencies of the Central.
